try driving 40 miles to work, 14 is nothing....

It doesn't sound far but with the price of petrol I probably wouldn't go much further.

Inn this day and time  if you find a job that pays good you better take it   in our area they don't pay much an hr so my husband travels 45 miles one way to work everyday.. even after  we pay gas he comes out with 200.00 more a week.. so it depends if you are benefiting from it after gas or if you are  loosing money..

lots of people travel farther than that, buts it is quite costly on the gas

I travel all over the world with my job and often go jogging for what you want to travel to work.
