  1. why not? there's no shelling nor bombing there as i'm aware of; there are no battles; there's Georgian police everywhere no matter Russians or not; Georgian president is safe and sound; there are no riots; Civilians live their own routine as before;

  2. No, it is not possible to travel from USA to Georgia.  The 4 Oil pipelines belong to UK owned and built by  BP and US owned Exxon Mobile oil company's and flow Caspian oil through Georgia, as they have no oil  production in Georgia where 1 million barrels a day flow into EU.  So there is no reason for the USA to be over concerned about that which we already own and control with BP.

    Putin planned this invasion since April and executed it to test the EU and USA to see how we would react. Russia got slapped hard for  it and lost any future with the WTO and with the G8 soon to be G 7 once again if McCain is elected and will be removed from the G8 soon after he is president.  As for threats Putin has made against Latvia, Georgia, Poland and Ukraine,  His taking back these former USSR republics is only his dream  and will never happen in reality.

    Since the invasion of Russia into Georgia, the polls have changed 30% higher than before the invasion in favor of a missile radar systems installed in Poland, Chech,, and now Ukraine is asking USA for the same, along with latvia.  They want protection from Putin. Will the USA give it to them?

    With Putin owning Gazprom, I think it is his dream to take this million barrel a day pipeline to increase profits for Gazprom. He needs to wake up to the fact that this is only a dream and will never be a reality.

    The best thing the USA can do is develop new technology so we and the EU  are not so dependant on oil imports.  Putin's oil company profits will fall and he will not be so arrogant. I think somehow Bush and Putin are relate, they are both so much alike its scary, both are insane!

  3. Americans are not allowed to get a Georgian visa - We tried before all of this went down - we went to Russia right on the border and some of my husband's family still lives in Georgia - they had to come see us becasue my son and I couldn't get visas.  It is because of all the fighting that is ALWAYS going on there.  It doesn't matter that there are problems now, there is always fighting.

    By the way - it's not an invasion if you listen to anyone who lives in Georgia - it's a life saving mission - teh Georgian president is a tyrant who is comitting ethnic genocide.  I wish the US would keep their noses out of it.  The Russians are doing the right thing and the only reason the US government is saying anything at all is 1. the giant oil pipeline we'd love to get our hands on, and 2. Georgia went to Iraq with us.  Bunch of political nonsense!

  4. well....i wouldn't but if you want you can to to Tbilisi (capital of georgia)

  5. I don't think any country in this world would likely to let their citizen to travel to Georgia. When there's war there at the moment.
