Northern Rocks Executive Chairman has just told reporters "We are being prudent"

Now, is it just me that finds that a little amusing?

  1. More than I'd trust someone who stifles free speech:

    Chaaaaange...chaaaange you can beleeeeve in...

  2. "Prudent" is a useful word, and to attempt a polemic based upon the mere use of a single word demonstrates your lack of mind.

  3. Do you really expect to find anyone with a basic grasp of any banking system trolling about on Yahoo! Answers?

*looks down* Eddy, the way Northern rock is being restructured, it *is* the government. It has been nationalised.

  4. Nationalisation? Ah, yes, those were the days. Steel, steam and coal ... I can taste the sulphur still.

... and we didn't have global warming!

  5. of course i would. I trusted billionaire presidential candidate Ross Perot, and everything he said ended with- "not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent"....oh how the world we live in would be so magical today IF ONLY we were prudent, and elected ROSS Perot !!!

  6. I'm sure Northern Rock employees don't. It's another way of saying 1,300 redundancies.

  7. I think Northern Rock's chairman is right to increse its capital debit ratio with the help of the government. This way its liquidity will improve, so that its restructuring can be on tract. And once again the bank can becomes performing again.
