Deleted just because it had spammers in it too?... Ive owned a very open enrollment adult group for over 6-7 years sure theres been alot of spam posted but i get enough member's posting parties that has gotten my group to over 2K members..

..So I HAD ths one guy start complaining about the spam......told me that if I didnt start restricting who got in the group or who posted he was going to get me kicked off yahoo. Am I violating yahoo's TOS by letting spammers post? Or is he just blowing smoke to get me to do what he wants?

  1. I haven't heard of this before, but I did band several bots from coming back to the site. After a while I did include a restriction to join, once that was in place I haven had any problems anymore. If someone wants to join the group, I will screen them first, sounds harsh, but no one in the group has ever complained, because we have so much personnal information in our database of 1100 freinds. I have known every member in the group that I have for over 35 - 37 years, and a few even longer than that. Its alot of work to keep a group going and growing strong, I have been doing it since Mar 2003, keep it updated once or twice a week.

If a member in your group is complaining then, he can choose to remove him or herself from the group, with out making threats to you or anyone else.

  2. depends- read TOS. groups do get deleted if there are complaints of spam, more so depending on the type of spam. when spammers are in groups and not removed, you're allowing for the potential to expose your members e-mail addresses if they were to get mail too. yahoo tries to control the amount of spam within their system, groups that allow it doesn't help at all.

go delete the spam off the archives and remove the spamming members.
