  1. No, they were just following the laws regarding food service. They can't give away free food or have people work for food. Yes, they throw food away after it has set out for too long, but can you imagine the law suits. Maybe these people were out to get them?

Plus, if you were there witnessing this and you cared so much about these people, why didn't you offer to buy their food for them? Or if you really were so upset, why didn't you walk out of the restaurant and not give them your business?

You are the "good" citizen who watches this all unfold and then does nothing about it except patronize a business. Shame on you for not stepping up and doing something about it at the time.

  2. That's horrible!

In high school I worked at a McDonalds restaurant in a small town.  One day we noticed a man that looked like he was wearing everything he owned.  The manager there loaded up all the hamburger and cheeseburgers we had on the warmer in a bag.  She was too scared to give them to him herself (small town - stereo types...) so I asked him if he would like a couple of burgers.  He graciously accepted.

THAT is how we treat people in Michigan.

  3. thats messed up i would have atleast gave the couple a hamburger or something....that is messed up cuz there are people that work there that give there friends free stuff.....thats really messed up......I bet they must have been really embarrased......But like they say treat people how you wanna b theated...so some day the manager is the one thats gonna b begging for food and hes gonna get turned down 2.....

    ~D.~

  4. Well, I felt several things when I read that.  Probably the most pertinent thing is that I have heard through the years that restaurants aren't to give way food, ostensibly for legal reasons (I at this stuff and now my liver is rotten).  Sometimes employees are fired for giving away food.

But no, while I have very much been deceived by people wanting money, I would be hard-pressed not to hand over some food, especially since my family and I are blessed to have some.

  5. On the bright side there is people left in the world who have a kind heart. Hopefully the couple found one of them after leaving the restaurant.
