I was reading on the internet about the oldest women in documented history or something like that who was 122 when she died. Why would anyone want to live for that long? By the looks of her it didnt look like she could do much, she was basically just existing rather than living.

  1. There are a few people that live to be 100 or more and a few of them still have an active life, but most elders don't have much quality in their life. By the sounds of it, at 100 years of age, you couldn't eat regular food, drink alcohol (or for that matter much of anything else) have s*x, you would wear diapers and probably don't know your own family (and you may have out-lived all your kids by that age). Sit in a nursing home and have someone wipe your butt. My vote would be NO. I don't want to live that long.

  2. I'm just over halfway to 100 now... it's getting easier and easier to think that I could actually do it!

  3. Im only 15 but have always wanted to make it to 102 foe some reason .. its strange i know but no more no less just 102 :) x

  4. welll!!..... i used to say i wanted to die when i was 50 becasue then i had lived half of a life basicly i had lived my young years!1 but now i dont no when i want to diee i spose we dont get a choice when we diee we dont no when eneythings going to happen so dont worry about if u want to live or when u want to diee just live life like its ur last day.. and just have fun..!!

  5. No, I don't want to live to be 122!!

  6. It's hard to say really, but I guess I'm leaning more towards no. I want to live as long as my honey does. Without him I am nothing.

  7. About 80-90 is good enough for me! Just long enough to see my kids and grandkids grow up.

  8. no i wanna die younge i really dont wanna get old is that strange?

  9. What an interesting life, not just in body, but in surroundings, lifestyles, historical events, and memories. Reading the article, it sounds as if this lady had a very relaxed lifestyle, which could attribute to her length of life.

But to live in a town or city and remember when the buildings weren't there and there were open fields, farmhouses, land etc.  To look out of a window and see a totally different view, to outlive everyone around you, children, grandchildren, friends.

It always used to interest me when my gran used to relate stories of her youth and growing up, working at the age of 10,  in the cotton mill, in the mornings and going to school in the afternoons, then home to look after her brother and sisters., leaving school at 14, to work full time, back in the mill, to bring home a wage for her mum and dad. Hard days, for the less fortunate, hard working class, but more respectful.

Would I like to live to over 100 ?, no, I don't think in todays society, that it will be a  very nice place to live.
