  1. Talk to your director or lead teacher...ask them to observe in the classroom at different times.....then have a meeting with all of you present...tell her how it makes you feel and how it is affecting your work....do be judge mental she really might not think she is yelling...I know sometimes I raise my voice and do not realize it till someone points it out to me.

Observe the kids...are they yelling in the room...point it out to her if they are and ask her if maybe you all should make a rule to be quieter...say something like.."I swear I cannot hear it with myself but the kids are really yelling a lot...maybe we should try doing more softer tones and see what happens...." again you are not accusing her but seeing if she will work with you.

Good luck it is hard to work with a co worker who does not hear what she is doing...or worse yet she will not hear what she is doing......if the problem persists sit down with the director and explain you do not want something to happen and she or he needs to help with the situation.

  2. i work in a classroom with someone who is really loud.  at first i thought she was yelling all the time but after i sat back and watched her i realized the kids loved her loudness and she was truelly a great employee i would not trade her for a quiet one.

  3. I would not work with a yeller.

  4. Make a tape of it and play it back one day when the class is quiet.  I think it would be h**l having to work with someone like that...

  5. It is not even healthy for the kids who are there. Yelling creates negative tone in the environment that shapes the circumstances in learning and teaching activities.

  6. i would be afraid it would make kids nervous and that is what happenend to mine so we switched schools, so either tell on them or quit there, we need good examples for kids

  7. The Director and Asst Director are not keeping enough tabs on this place - you won't be getting paid alot in the first place, it's not a healthy environment for the kids, and you don't want to be stressed.  Express your concerns to the Director and gauge the reaction you get...then follow your gut.  There are plenty of daycares that need good people

  8. no

  9. Is she yelling at someone or for someone to do something? Or is she just "yelling" is how she talks???? If it is the first then it's not a good environment for the children. If it is the latter then maybe she needs her hearing checked!

  10. Tape her "accidentally"  while you tape something the kids say, and then let her listen to the cute stuff the kids said.  You would have to coordinate it, but if she does it all the time.......

That should embarrass her no end and make her realize what she sounds like.

  11. Have you tried talking to the Director? In some states there is such a thing as verbal abuse and as a mandated reporter you have an obligation to make a report to CPS. In any case, you can act as a role model for theis person if you remain professional in your dealings with the kids and your fellow staff members.
