I have seen some silly questions that were amusing on here [israel vs england vs cuba] so i thought i would ask one. Okay, you are a terrorist going down the road, his fellow terrorists are targeted in the car for laying down a few roadside goodies for me and my fellow friends, they are running 55 mph with an Escort radar/laser detector, I call up some friends on the radio and ask for air support, F-16 is flying over head and "paints" the car for impact of a laser guided munition, will the radar detector give away whats coming next or not? =]

  1. No.  Military radar runs on different frequencies than civilian radar.  Even so, it wouldn't matter.  They would be toast anyway.

  2. No it would not set off the laser detector because the pods used in an F16 are not the same type of lasers that are used by law enforcement.  An F16 paints a target with a continuous lase.  A police laser hits the target and comes back to give a reading of the speed - it's not a continual lase.  Radar detectors simply aren't built to detect it.
