Question:

Wouldn't Chik-fil-a do well financially in India?

My theory is that since the cow is sacred to Hindus and 80% of India is Hindu, that they would choose Chik-fil-a over McDonald's or Burger King (because Burger King and McD's serve predominantly beef, while Chik-fil-a does not serve beef).

Opinions?

Thoughts?

  1. Probably, Chick-fil-a will have to cater to their local tastes.  I remember when I went to KFC at a Caribbean island along with the basic stuff included were gum and hand wipes.  The chicken tasted different, if not better than the U.S. version.  But regarding the beef in issue, Chik-fil-a would probably do well.

  2. Not necessarily, they would still have to compete with McDonald's, which is already well-established in India. In most countries, McDonald's menu is beef-dominated. In India, however, they replace beef in their burgers with a vegetarian burger-like patty.

  3. Probably not because most Indians are vegetarian. Some eat chicken, but McDonalds is more well known. If they did, they would have serious competition with Micky Ds.

  4. good point, i know that the chik-fil-a we have in our town is crazy busy, one of the busiest places to eat. i looooovvveee it!!!
