Wouldn't Dale Jr.'s Life Story Make A Great Movie/Novel?

Look beyond the hate you feel for Jr, you jr. haters, and think. Wouldn't his life make a great story? Seriously,

there's a guy who is amazing at racing. He has a kid. the kid grows up to be just like him. While they are racing, the great one dies in a crash and the son is left to redeem him. He wins at Texas. He wins the Daytona 500 4 years later to reddem himself. And then he switches teams. He goes through a winless streak, and while he tries to break it, the evil Kyle Busch spins him and the son spends the rest of the season with his new team having a great time, breaking the winless streak and then possibly winning a championship? (I said possibly, and it's possible)

I think it'd make a great story/movie/novel

  1. His father's story is interesting, but not his. He is a somewhat talented driver who got breaks because of his name.  I think you have about 40 other stories in NASCAR that would be just as interesting as Jr's.

  2. Yeah sure dude. You should get on that right away.

  3. Yeah it would. His dad had one, why not on him! Starting when he was young learning from his dad , winning the Busch series, and when his dad died, and the aftermath of it. It would be great!

  4. Why?  What has he done that a LARGE number of drivers haven't? Just because he lost his daddy in a race?  I like Jr. as a personality but I wouldn't put him in the top ten most talented drivers out there right now.  His accomplishments is a pretty boring script so far.  When he passes his dad in wins or championships you might have something (he won't).

  5. No

  6. No, I think a better movie would be about a guy with none of the leg up advantages that JR has enjoyed.  He loves to race and has to fight his way to the top, gettting the ride, gettting the respect from his fellow drivers and winning the girl after fighting back from a devastating crash to win the championship.  Now that would be a movie.  With some really great racing footage thrown in for good measure.

  7. most defff. he the son of a racing prodigy and this year has been doing pretty amaazing himself. the dude is on fire. he's had such a life story.

i deffff like all the movies about sr. though. those are freakin' amaazing! his life story is great. and he defff deserved to get as far as he did. no doubt!

  8. Not at all. He has done nothing but lived off his fathers name. This year he is with the best team in racing and im still not impressed

  9. It will someday make a great movie. But the story is about half told at this point. Let's let it get a few more years down the pike before it's a movie. Who knows, the best may be yet to come.

  10. Yes!!!! I mean his dad has a lot, i even own one.

he'll probably follow in his dads footsteps. =):)

  11. How is Jr anything like his dad?

  12. Ok 1st of all I am no Jr fan. That, however, does not make me a "jr. hater". Just because I am not a member of Jr nation, does not make me a hater. So please stop stereotyping people whom happen to not be a fan or your favorite driver.

2nd. There is already a book about Dale Jr. Called "Driver #8". Written by Dale Earnhardt Jr. & Jade Gurss from 2002. I have it, I have read it, and I actually enjoyed it.

There have been some others since that one. But no other book was written by Dale Jr,  to my knowledge anyway.

  13. Thumbs down all you want, he hasn't been successful enough! 17 wins in 10 years isn't even top 50 material. Plus, don't you think his family has enough media attention and shows dedicated to him? I haven't seen one documentary on Johnson, Stewart, or even Gordon. Yet, I have seen 3 on a driver not even half as talented as any of them.

  14. No. He hasn't done anything successful enough. For example, is anybody going to buy the book, "Go, Milka, Go!" I don't think so.

  15. I will stick to worshiping Jesus Christ. Not a race car driver. I dont think a movie or book is in order.

  16. Oh yes I agree.  I mean through his past at military school then getting into racing and his father is his mentor and team owner then tragically taken away from him that fateful day in turn 4 of the Daytona 500 while Mikey goes on to win and Jr. is 2nd then heroicaly comes back to win the Pepsi 500.  Also the year he was racing in Sonoma in the Corvette that caught fire and he was caught in the burning blaze he said he felt his Dad pull him out of the car.  That is some terrific stuff.

  17. Not a good story at all...to scripted, just like his career.

  18. first of all, jr has already stated in a interview I saw he does not like telling people how he feels about his dad's death, its private, so the man hasnt done anything on the track that's book or movie worthy, so why on earth would you want to see one on him, tell me what has he done in his career thats worthy of a movie? Tony does have a book that came out in like 2002 or 03 I believe. I did read it and loved it, but tony has done career worthy stuff to warrent a book, not jr. And I also believe, just cause Im not part of jr nation doesnt make me a hater, sorry if I support winners and not losers

    Go JGR

  19. We were all fine and good until you called my favorite driver evil!

  20. There is a lot of stories and movies about Dale Earnhardt Jr. Why do we keep pumping him up, he has not done anything. What kind of story would that be, boring.

  21. Yes, but not yet.  He's only 33.  I know that seems ancient to some people, but it isn't.  Wait until he accomplishes a bit more than he has.  That will make a much better story and/or movie.

  22. it's not Dale Jr. we hate it's the idiotic fans like you that think he's a god, when he has yet to prove anything remotly close to what his great father did

  23. Yea, if they did it right.

  24. I'm sure it will happen eventually, and yes, it will make a great story.....someday.

  25. Nascar Images put together a 100-minute program/promotional disc on his life called "Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Any Given Day" back in 2004.  junior was the executive producer.  it's described at the following nytimes site, and is available from amazon.
