  1. blimps no they are like politicians big bags full of gas, what you are thinking of is a Zeppelin it has a rigid frame (unlike politicians) covered with a fabric and the gas is contained in cells withing the frame.  This would make the trip more like a luxury liner because there is more space within the shell for cabins and stuff.  Whereas the blimp would be like taking the bus some place because the passanger compartment is slung underneath the gas bag.

  2. hmmmm...

    Happy Trails!

  3. You might want to read about the Hindenburg disaster. Today's blimps are filled with helium which is safer, but less available and more expensive. It would be cool for a novelty trip.

  4. So are bicycles.

  5. They are slow, can carry very few passengers, and need I mention the Hindenburg?

  6. Are you asking for an opinion or otherwise subjective answer? Blimps may indeed be sweet, if you consider slow moving bags of air advertising the latest tire to be "sweet." Helium is pretty environmentally friendly, being a noble gas (non-reactive) and all , but I don't think that the green movement will champion blimps anytime soon.

Short answer: Blimps have been around for 100+ years, if they had any advantages over regular transportation they would have already been in common use.

  7. No they use alot more energy then they put out!
