The athlete's would compete as athlete's with no national affiliation, not as the national medal total pawns that they are today.

  1. I agree. In a way, two gymnasts from different countries have more in common with each other than with their countrymen that are not gymnasts.

We have to believe what you described can be done. Like the Olympians, we must believe we can be better than what we are today.

  2. Yawps.

  3. a-men!

I think that would be great!

Although it is cool to cheer on your country.. I agree It hink it should be about the sport you know?

I will say one thing though... Canada's performance in all but rowing is making me extremely embarrased.

  4. Unrealistic coz their skin color, looks, and names would always be associated about which country they come from. If there are no countries written then people would still categorize them as the blacks, the asians, the whites, etc. And it also defies the real reason for the Olympics which is bringing nations together....and also, not many athletes could afford to compete without the financial support of their government.

  5. in this day and age that will never happen...someone always going to complain

  6. It would be good, but at the same time people would lose interest because there would be nobody to cheer on.

  7. Yes, but that's not gonna happen. Even the hosting of the Olympics alone is all about nationalism. We're seeing that right now.

  8. No.
