Sweet dreams are made of this

Who am I to disagree?

Travel the world and the seven seas

Everybody's looking for something

Some of them want to use you

Some of them want to get used by you

Some of them want to abuse you

Some of them want to be abused

Sweet dreams are made of this

Who am I to disagree?

Travel the world and the seven seas

Everybody's looking for something

Some of them want to use you

Some of them want to get used by you

Some of them want to abuse you

Some of them want to be abused

I wanna use you and abuse you

I wanna know what's inside you

(Whispering) Hold your head up, movin' on

Keep your head up, movin' on

Hold your head up, movin' on

Keep your head up, movin' on

Hold your head up, movin' on

Keep your head up, movin' on

Movin' on!

  1. It is said that David A. Stewart and Annie Lennox wrote Sweat Dreams in an effort to express the search for happiness despite the pressures and expectations of society.  Our personal desires direct our motivation.

Stewart and Lennox were lovers until about 1980, when they became musical partners in the Eurythmics.  This song, some believe was strongly influenced by the reality of the end of their romance.

Some might call Sweat Dreams realistic, other would say it is cynical.
