Question:

Wouldn't it have been easier for the Palin family if Bristol got married as soon as they found out... ?

Sarah Palin had been chosen for VP?

Just to clarify, even though she is pregnant, I don't think they should necessarily get married. Teenagers that get married almost always get divorced...ALMOST.

But since they said they were planning on it anyway, why not do it then?

*Sidenote* Please keep in mind that I am in no way chastizing Bristol. I've been where she is and I know what she faces. Thank you.

  1. Yes, her daughter got pregnant out of wedlock when she was 17 but so do millions of other teenagers.  I would look down upon Sarah Palin if she forced her daughter to marry someone to save face during an election.  She is not hiding from her skeletons in her closet and is very open about them.  We are all human, we all put our pants on one leg at a time and we all make mistakes

  2. They would have been married sooner but

Palin used all of her shotgun shells shooting poor defensless animals

  3. You would think so, but it would still be obvious that she got pregnant in high school.  So I guess it wouldn't really have even mattered.

Maybe they themselves didn't find out until recently.  No one has said when exactly Bristol told them.

  4. You probably meant to ask this in 'family issues', this is 'elections' and it has no business here.

    Obama O8

  5. Based on  Levi Johnston's comments on his My Space page I think this will be a shotgun wedding.  A wedding can be arranged and performed in three days in most states. I have helped arrange lovely wedding, church, reception the whole show in three weeks.

Levi is a reluctant bridegroom.  Maybe the trip to St. Paul, paid for by the GOP, will entice him to the alter.  Just my opinion.

  6. 2 reasons:

    1. They wanted to keep it hush-hush.

    2. Levi still wanted to SOW HIS WILD OATS!!!!!

He didn't want to get married JUST YET!

    Fact.

  7. I think it is curious that only after Bristol's mom is offered the VP nominee position that wedding plans are announced.  I wonder how the boy REALLY feels about being a husband and father.

  8. probably would have yes.

you have to realize though, its Bristol's and whoever the father is's choice, not Palin... so yes, they probably influcence the decision, but they can't force anyone into marrage in the US.

  9. That would not have helped

In the information age that would have sent up as many red flags as her baby  hump

This way they avoid the perception that they were hiding it

It is already well known in their hometown anyway

besides debutantes do not elope or have simple weddings this would be a state affair
