Wouldn't it save water if there was a Number 1 and a Number 2 button to push on the toilet?

The water necessary for the Number 1 button to operate would be substantially less that Number 2.

  3. Yes, and they're available.  There are called dual flush toilets.  Here's a link if you want to check them out.  Many different manufacturers make them.

    its called a dual flush system  and check Kohler, American Standard and Toto websites for more info and where to buy

  5. They are way ahead of you Prstlyon, they make them, but they are pricey. If you are in the market for a new toliet, and want one that uses little water, try a "RV"  type toliet. They use about a quart of water per flush, and cost around 100 bucks.  You can get them at any RV store. Off The Grid types use them a lot.
