Question:

Wouldnt it be cool if NASCAR...?

Brought back a series similar to the IROC...only with Dirt Late Models? Man I would love this and would watch it every single time it came on! Like they could build dirt tracks near some official NASCAR tracks (Like they already have at some) and a couple of days before the Sprint Cup race, the drivers compete in dirt late models?

We should petition to NASCAR for this or something...because dirt racing is the best.

  1. good idea!!!

  2. I'd rather see a return of IROC, but with a schedule including:

    A big oval (Daytona?)

    A small oval (Bristol?)

    A road course

    A quarter-mile drag strip

    A dirt track

With different tires and maybe gearing for each track, but NO other changes.  It would be way fun to watch.  As before, though, the hard part would be scheduling the races so that IRL, WoO, ALMS, maybe NHRA, WRC, and F1 drivers could all participate.

Of course I'm expecting that my man Mark Martin would dominate once again.  Well . . . maybe not on the dragstrip . . . . !

  3. Sure.  Make the teams spend more money for dirt cars and make the drivers spend more time at the track.  Drivers spend years trying to get away from dirt and on to asphalt.  It will never happen.  I agree with you on one thing though, the Prelude was a cool race.

  4. Scary bestanswer, I've been trying to ask that question all night, we thinkin' alike?

    It would totally be cool!!

*You wouldn't happen to know why I can't ask questions, would you?*

  5. I think that would be a great idea and that would allow others (new and upcoming) drivers to compete as well..some of the regulars may not be able to drive due to other commitments but the ones who can and will....would add more to the sport!

I agree that Tennessee has some of the best dirt tracks...been to a couple there..

You write it and I will sign, wtg

  6. Sounds good to me!  Once in a while I go to some of the dirt tracks near me, here in Tennessee!

    Tony was AWESOME tonite!

  7. ^^^ dumb is spelled with "b"  ^^^  (irony so thick you could cut it with a "nife" ;-)

yes it would be cool, but it won't happen.  they already have other series that run dirt late models, and there's nowhere in the current drivers schedules to add anything, unless you are ken schrader and race 100+ times a year.

  8. That would be cool. But what would make it even better is if they built the tracks where there are no NASCAR tracks so people wouldn't have to travel 1000 miles to see a race. This country need more race tracks. But by spreading them around they could actually get more talent. It's too hard to break into the sport if it's kept too concentrated in one geographical area. Build the gateway tracks in a broader area to invite newer talent. The money will finds it's way there.

  9. h**l why not, have one during the week between the All-Star and the 600 right before the World Of Outlaws race on the dirt track at Lowes.

  10. NASCAR should add a couple of dirt tracks to the cup schedule. That would be a kick to see these cars running on a 1 mile dirt.ARCA runs at DuQuoin and Springfield(Illinois State Fair)

  11. yes, and I am from spingfield ,IL., home of the fastest dirt tracks in the U.S.

  12. I think it would be awesome! Could you imagine a dirt track somewhere around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Maybe half dirt half pavement.
