  1. The Yankees need pitching and not hitting.  We will never see Manny, and his $20 million per year salary on the Yankees.

  3. NO! the yankees dont need any more outfielding. what we need are more pitchers. we already have too many outfielders as it is. and he would be replacing damon. damon is our leadoff. Ik melky and jeter can leadoff at times but damon is the best leadoff when it comes down to it. taking manny would be stupid. Manny is childish and dirty. He wouldnt fit in.

    20 million for Ramirez is not in the Yankees best interest. Maybe 12-15 million and if he starts to act like a professional ball player.

  13. Being a Red Sox fan, no it wouldnt be great. It would be perfect if he stayed where he was. And Chitown Champ, are you saying the Johnny Damon is better than Manny? I really hope not. I dont think Manny, Abreau, and Matsuzaka would be a bad outfield. Or Manny DH and keep Nady. Damon just isnt that good anymore. Jeter could hit leadoff.

  16. And replace who? Johnny Damon? Then they'd lose their lead off guy. You can always ask "Wouldn't it be great if ______ became a _______" but you have to think how he helps the team. In this case, not by much if at all.

    Edit: no, I'm not saying Damon is better than Manny. I'm saying where Damon would go. The Yankees outfielders are stacked with Nady now, and adding Ramirez means getting rid of one of them. And Matsuzaka in the outfield? You mean Matsui?

  20. I wouldn't want him on the Yankees & what if the Yankees did get him & won the World Series, would the Red Sox fans call him a traitor like they did Damon who left Boston to go to NY &  who by the way was a big part of the Red Sox winning in 2004.

  21. He is a consistant player who never seems to have power, which makes him a good player. BUT, hes 36 years old, so he probably has 5 years left to play baseball. I know the yanks sometimes stear to the old/proven players, but they want to build and bank on the younger players (not parting with hughes/kennedy/cabrera/cano)

    I see manny going to the dodgers, athletics, cubs, a team where winning is a possibility (at least make the playoffs)
