  1. Yes, it would be unusual. As far as I know, this has only ever happened once before in Sport, that was in the Euro 2004 Football (soccer) tournament in Portugal, where Portugal took on Greece in the opener, and they also played in the Final, in which Greece won.

However I could be wrong, it may have happened before.

  2. If its gonna be a Argentina / France final, I just hope Argentina does the same as in the opening game and wins.

Then I just can say Argentina deserves to win.

  3. Nah... what a boring final  that would be.

Those 2 countries are in the tier 1... but just.

  4. I would rather see England v Argentina. They could put the Falkland Islands up as a side bet.

  5. That's not irony, just symmetry.

  6. south africa and france to close it. it would be ironic but i hope it doesnt happen and that the boks play their hearts out as they ussualy do and bring the cup home.

  7. Just as painful as it would be if it were England/South Africa.   But given the opening hype - yes, ironic, especially since the Pumas might win it!

  8. It would be but you'd know it would just be the same result (France pumped thinking they're gonna win cus they bet the all blacks and england and argentina under dogs cus they only had to beat scotland and south africa) same scenario why would it change?

  9. Interesting, not ironic, and it won't happen as England will be a finalist.

  10. not ironic, the draw is always positioned so that 2 teams qualifying from any pool wont meet each other until the final.
