Swansea City defender, Angel Rangel, has warned his side against complacency when they visit the Saint Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup’s men will take on a struggling Southampton team in a Premier League match high on confidence, after putting up some solid performances recently against the top-flight teams.
The South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the fourth round of the League Cup.
Last week, they held the then leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, to a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium, in a game which saw them stretch the London-based team to the limit.
Comparing the challenges that they have faced over the last couple of weeks, the match on Saturday, can be viewed as a much easy one for the Swans.
However, the Spanish International urged his side not to take their foot off the pedal despite going against one of the weaker oppositions in the league.
He said that the Saints will be desperate to get their EPL campaign back on track and the fact that they will be playing at home will make it all the more difficult for them to secure all three points from the visit.
“The last few games were a big week of fixtures for us,” he told the club’s official website.
“But now we have a very different game to prepare for. Southampton have not made the start they would have hoped for, but they are a team that will fight for everything against us.”
Southampton are currently pitted at the bottom of the table, after having managed just 4 points out of a possible 30. The fact that is particularly troublesome for Nigel Adkins’ unit is that they have already conceded 28 goals in the competition and failed
to keep a single clean sheet.
Even though Angel admitted that their Saturday opponents might have a fragile defence, he pointed out that they have got a strong frontline, which is capable of causing problems for any defence on their day.
“There's (Rickie) Lambert, (Jay) Rodriguez, (Gaston) Ramirez, (Adam) Lallana - these guys can punish you because they are dangerous in front of goal,” he added.
