Wow, Kobe is stinking it up for Team USA, why didn't they put Jordan in instead?

42% from the field, 2nd lowest only to Michael Redd

5 for 24 from a 3 point line closer to the basket than the nba's.

And most importantly, the most turnovers on the team.

They should have just put in MJ at 50 years old! Props to D Wade, Lebron, and Dwight Howard though, they are tearing it up for team USA!

  1. Apparently, Kobe is overrated!

Hey, change your display name to DMAN and we'll all be DMAN today!

  2. too bad michael jordan averaged basically the same amount of points kobe is now in the olympics. (about 14 a game)

    so did mj suck too?

  3. Michael Jordan is to old to play basketball and the rest of his friends from the NBA

  4. man kobe dont have to play up to his game look at err body else how good they are kobe is just playin along

  5. Hater!

Even though Kobe's struggling to find his rhythm he's playing great defense. Kobe is used to being the guy that has the ball in his hands lots of time and he's having a little trouble adjusting to having to handle the ball less and taking less shots. Most of his shots are catch and shoot which is not how Kobe normally plays so he needs a little time to adjust. He'll get better as time goes on. Just you watch!

  6. Kobum "The Mamba Rapist" Fryant should not be in the Olympics, the team USA should have rout all their opponents in a 40 plus points difference.

  7. Cuz Jordan is an OLD.....

Ask why they didnt put in Patrick Roy not, MJ...

Also, they put in Kobe for a legit reason...he is the best in the world...

Calm down on Kobe buddy stop ripping on people just cuz u hate em...

Ignorant haters may give me thumbs down...I dont care.

  8. They didn't put Jordan on the roster because, as you said, Jordan is fifty. I guarantee his numbers would be lower than Kobe's are now. Besides, Jordan didn't make the three year commitment Colangelo wanted three years ago.

Kobe has been struggling three-point wise for Team USA, but this is because most of his threes have been spot up jumpers. If you watch him at all in Los Angeles, you'd know that is something he almost never does. But he has been working specifically on spot up threes in practice, so he can only improve from here.

Now this may surprise you, but when Jordan played for the Dream Team, he too shot the second lowest field goal percent on the team during the Olympics; only a thousandth percentage point ahead of Christian Laettner. Jordan also shot the lowest three point percentage on his team, going four for nineteen.

So if Jordan couldn't even put up comparatively good international numbers in his prime, he's not going to be able to do it at fifty years old.
