The comfy luxuries aren't just being reserved for running shoes anymore. Gallin said fashion-forward shoe companies are taking big risks to make their designs feel as fabulous as they look.

"I think Generation X realized it first," said Gallin. "The Baby Boomers were still sacrificing comfort for style. Then, we finally discovered you can have both. Now, I think everyone is on the same page. Designers and manufacturers are putting real scientific knowledge into their shoes in order to save the comfort."

oh wow these people are genuises! they must be the first people to ever think of this its amazing how smart they are! its like wow you can put comfort insoles in high heels like wow! really lady where have you been under a rock for like 10 years? god go out and buy some dr.sholes high heel insoles and you can wear any pair of shoes you like, not just the ones from this crappy brand

Oddly enough, Americans are very spoiled when it comes to their shoes. I learned this in Europe (excluding England).  For some reason, Europeans don't have good soles in their shoes. No padding, no comfort.  Just hard shoe.  I looked everywhere for comfortable shoes with soles because you walked EVERYWHERE in Europe.  Didn't find any until Athens.  Bought them, of course, only to find out it was an American brand.  Figures.

Don't know why, but Americans like very comfortable shoes even though we don't walk much and the rest of the world seems fine without them.  Props to them but God my feet were killing me in European shoes.

So if they have new comfortable shoes out, you can bet they're made for the spoiled Americans.
