  1. I am a Pittsburgh fan, and personally I am glad he is gone.  Malone and Fleury are both going to stay.  That says far more about their character.  Hossa is banking on Detroit winning the Stanley Cup next year, if they do not, he has lowered his market value.  The fact that he signed for only a year says alot about him. The Penguins are going to be contenders for the next several years, they have a group of highly talented young players.  There was nothing lucky about their success this year.

  2. Wow, "Crosby's Right Winger"......  geez.

I'm sure most Pens fans understand that it is a business.

How bitter is that journalist? You expect that kind of childish response from fans on message boards but not from a journalist. Does he really believe that the only difference between the Wings and the Pens were a couple of bounces?

Also the coaches played a huge part.

  3. haha pits overated and that guy said it the best HE GOT TRADED AS A RENT A PLAYER he had no obligation to come back

  4. VERY SMART MAN  he knows more about the pen's than we do / the pen's were LUCKY to get as far as they did  LETS GO RED WINGS

  5. "Sidney Crosby's right winger"

They found a way to bring the almighty Crosby into this!

The video. "The Penguins were only 2 games away form winning" Yea, the Wings DID win.

  6. hahah the video made me laugh soo hard lol... wow the wings are going to kick sum serious *** again next year ... the video dude is on something...GO WINGS!!!

  7. We take our hockey to heart in 'da Burgh'.... that's just the way it is... Don't diss our mammas or our Pens....

  8. LOL thats what u get for being a bandwagon fan, become a leafs fan, we are loyal and don't player hate.

  9. Yea they dont seem too happy. This reminds me of last year with Gomez leaving NJ to go to the Rangers. Boy i was really pissed then. But yea that sucks.

  10. Yeah, we're pissed because we gave up fan favorite Armstrong, Christiansen, Esposito and a draft pick essentially for Pascal Dupuis.

What we offered Hossa was fair, and for him to turn around and slam the organization like that was totally in character for a sell-out like Hossa.

Pittsburgh treated him like royalty when he was here.  But we have a long memory, and Hossa won't be welcomed back.

  11. What is up with people saying "he had no choice to go to pittsburgh"

alright guys, i'll give you that. He did have no choice. But he knew what he was doing when he said "pittsburgh is my first choice." & then back down on us and take another offer.

  12. All these Pens fans need to get over themselves.  Anyone can build a team out of high draft picks because the top picks have been scouted the highest.  Now the Pens are over the cap and falling apart.  What did they expect?  If they're so upset they should root for one of the few teams that know how to effectively manage a winner.  Like maybe the Red Wings?  Either way I hate the salary cap and wish such an exciting team like the pens didn't have to fall apart.  Instead of a salary cap, the NHL should move the bulk of failing teams to Canada where hockey belongs.

    GO WINGS!

  13. do pen fans understand that he never chose to got to Pittsburgh? he went there in a trade as a rent a player. just like Campbell never wanted to be a shark.

not what people wanted to hear but its true... so bring on the thumbs down!!

    edit: Thank you David

  14. For all the Pens out there, Hossa owes you or the team anything. The fans nor the team owe him anything so move past it. I personally think it is a blessing for the Pens. Do you as fans want your team to have half the teams payroll wrapped up in 3 forwards and a goalie??

This was never about money, he turned down a $63 million dollar deal from Edmonton, it was never about length, this was about wanting to win. Pretty clear he doesn't think the Pens will improve on the success they had this year.(Fantastic year I might add).

It's sucked that it happened, but the Pens will move on, and the fans will forget about him come training camp time. All the teams have felt the wrath of the rental player, that is crappy business part of this sport.

  15. pay attention speedo......malone signed with Tampa Bay two days ago
