  1. Silva will win.  Anderson moving up is great.  Nobody in his weight class stands a chance.  It is a pretty weak weight class.  He would much more exposure fighting and beating the likes of Rampage, Liddell and Wanderlei.  Becoming champ of two weight classes would be incredible, although BJ Penn has a better chance at that.

  2. It's basically a feeder fight so everyone (the UFC, Anderson Silva) can see how he'll do at 205. ie; can he carry the weight and still be effective, is he strong enough for the 205 class.

The Idea behind it is that they may want to pursue a fight later in the year with Chuck Liddell and James Irvin is a test but not to big of a test.

  3. I think this is a dangerous fight for Anderson. If he wins so what? He is expected to.  if he loses than there will be many people saying I told you so. Anderson should stay at 185 and dominate until he either loses or retires.

  4. Anderson Silva all the way in this fight. Who can stop Silva? I don't care WHAT his weight is.

  5. Anderson Silva will win with a rear naked choke 3:45 into round 2 - or something similar.

  6. that's awesome, what if anderson pulls a dan henderson and dominates both wait classes. i think he can do it. his stand up is perfect.

  7. I agree with Disco, let me say that I think Silva will win easily, but if he does who cares, you beat James Irvin!!! I know its just a test fight at 205 but what the h**l. And btw if Irvin wins does that give him a title shot at 205? I think Dana threw this one together hap-hazardly because Silva was getting antsy and he needed something to put up against the Affliction card. I think this is a bad move for Silva, the guys at the top of 205 are huge, they really wiegh 220-230. I dont think Silva can handle guys that big, sure he beat Hendo but Hendo was a very small 205. If Silva only gets a super fight with someone like Liddell or Wandy whos just gonna bang with him then fine, but as for seriously competeing for the 205 title, not a good idea.
