  1. it can sometimes sometimes not

  2. When you have so many key players out with injuries, it is very difficult to win regardless of payroll.  But I can guarantee that my team, the Yankees, has had more success in my lifetime (61 years old) than any other poster on here.

  3. $200 million doesn't guarantee anything. The Yanks are just showing that a team with that much talent can struggle as much as a team with a $30 million payroll.

  4. grrrr

  5. I'm a Yankees fan, and I found its easy to have a big payroll and not win.

The thing is, the Yanks overpay their players. Its just that simple. It you were to take the actual value of the players, based on performance, Pavano wouldnt be making 10 million a year. Giambi wouldnt be making 20 million a year. Damon and Abreu probably wouldnt make as much either. Thats just the way it goes...I do really hope that we shape up in the offseason, and if we spend money, spend it wisely.

  6. How much money did Colorado spend last year? They went to a WS. Since when have the Marlins been a High Market team and they have won 2 WS.

I agree with you, money helps but it does not get you anywhere if you dont know how to spend it.

  7. I noticed the ID today.

As I said in my last answer, the people that use the word suck are a specific kind of person and they have adjective issues.

  8. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The ONLY thing a high payroll means is that your team's players are well paid. That's ALL it means.

No Yankees fan I know thinks that should guarantee a World Series win. You can pay players all you want, but if they don't play up to expectations, money can't change that. Someone could come give me $10 million for a season and I can guarantee I won't get many hits because I'm not a great athlete. Anyone who thinks that big money will guarantee a championship (or that Yankees fans believe that) should get their head examined.

Hey, Janet. No need to make these retaliatory questions. I know it kinda makes you feel good, but it doesn't do anything. Yankee fans will remain Yankee fans and Yankee haters will remain Yankee haters. Just deal with the intelligent folks and don't try to appeal to the lowest common denominator. (You know who they are.)

    Peace be with you.

  9. I just ignore these ignorant fans who want to blame the Yanks for their owners putting the money they make into their own pockets instead of helping to improve their team & satisfy their fan base.
