  1. sounds much like a case from the movie nacho libre. have you seen it? it'll be a great inspiration for you. you know the best thing is to keep a goal that if you are good in basketball then you'll get someone or something and imagine the happiness you'll feel when you do get it. you'll be motivated and you'll never want to give up. good luck.

  2. just keep trying.i loved soccer with a passion and i got worse to where i ended up quiting. i miss it alot and i wanna go back to playing it but i moved on to cheerleading wich made me alot happier. god loves you and maybe he has other plans in life for you other than basketball. just pray about it and ask him why he is doing this to you and ask him to help you understand!

    i hope this helps!

  3. i have no idea what to say bro.... if you like it keep trying, practice will make you better

  4. First of all, your attitude isn't going to help you. God did not make you a horrible basketball player; God, if you will, has far bigger fish to fry.

As long as you keep telling yourself that you stink, you will. As long as you say you will never be successful, you never will be. These are self-fulfilling prophecies.

You are apparently up against some skilled, practiced players. You are not skilled or practiced, therefore you appear untalented when compared to the others. But you cannot compare yourself to others. You can only gauge your progress based on your performance from one day to the next.

We do not come out of the box scoring 30 points a game, hitting every free throw and snagging every rebound. These are learned skills. You learn them by hooking up with an excellent coach who can show you all the finer points of how to shoot, dribble, etc.

You are not being patient with yourself. You are in fact being really  ugly with yourself, which does no one any good, most especially you.

You need to calm down and start again. Pull yourself together and talk to someone who knows all the basics and is willing to take the time to show you. Everything is built on a foundation of basics.

Once you know HOW to shoot and HOW to make the lay-ups, get to the part or your backyard and spend hours perfecting the skills.

You can't be great unless you work to be great. And you can be great. Just not overnight.

Calm down and go at this logically and rationally. You can do it. People say "don't give up" for a reason. It's because they've ALL BEEN THERE and understand.

I think you've spent enough time wallowing around in the pity party. Now get busy.

Keep your head up and your spirits up and build your game.

    You can do it.

  5. In the words of allen iverson  "I know it's important, I honestly do but we're talking about practice. We're talking about practice man. (laughter from the media crowd) We're talking about practice. We're talking about practice. We're not talking about the game. We're talking about practice. When you come to the arena, and you see me play, you've seen me play right, you've seen me give everything I've got, but we're talking about practice right now.

  6. practice

  7. practice..keep playing...you will gain experience with every game....you have to learn how to lose before  you can begin to win.....

  8. hormones

  9. just have fun its just a game...

  10. Dude I used to go through the same thing as you. I'd never cry, but I used to make like 25% of my shots. If you have a basketball hoop at your house go out there and shoot everyday for an hour or 2. You'll eventually get better. You need to chill out tho, if you keep thinking like that you'll lose your focus during games. Just go outside and practice practice practice!

  11. I play basketball myself and its is one of those sports you have to be fully into!! You also cant just take a break from it then decide to pick it up and be the best there is out there!! You have to practice alot and trust me you will get better it may not seem like it right now but you will!!

  12. well if you want to become good at ball you have to get in proper shape buy a pair of heeless shoes and star workin out those leg muscles after that perfect a proper shooting form, check out youtube for that stuff, it sounds to me like you should re-learn the game and this time do it right.

p.s. dont cry it doesnt help at all and a comitment to practice for hours should be there if it isnt your fooling your self

  13. practice makes perfect....dont give up keep going!

  14. At Least U No What U No What U R Nd U also Identfied The Problem U C Basketball Is My Fav Nd There Is Nothing That I Want In This World Bsidzzz Friendship Nd Yah

  15. Practise.

    Practise practise practise practise.

As much as you can stand.

Everyone have off days/weeks/months even years.

So don't beat yourself up about it. You may not be talented in basketball, but my goodness if you're passionate about it and pursue you're going to go far.

  16. Frustration is part of sports. You may not be the best, but you've got nothing to lose! Just keep trying, and practice always makes perfect. Nobody is going to judge you for not being the best if you keep a good attitude.

  17. Your right, you not perfect. And sometimes you have to accept that. Let basketball be your passion, but just because it is doesn't mean you have to be even great at it. Just because I love snowmobiling doesn't mean I'm better than every girl out there that snowmobiles, but that doesn't mean i don't have a passion for it. You know what I'm saying. My boyfriend of two years is a lot like you. I mean he loves sports, and he really stands out over a lot of people, but if theirs one bad day he has, he just hates himself for it and put everyone else in a bad mood. God made you human, and only you can control how good you are at something. He is not to blame for anything. Be lucky for who you are and not for what you have or don't have. Including a talent. It is very rare someone goes pro in a sport. Just because you may never be pro doesn't mean you suck, or that it's God fault. How you conrtolling this situation and everything is up to you. God didn't even pick your passions, you did.

  18. Well you'll never be successful with that attitude. Tell yourself you're good.

Expect that you're going to make that shot that you go for.

If you think, ugh, I suck, I can't shoot, and then you shoot, what do you think will happen?

You have to tell yourself you can. You've got to believe it. Really believe it.

    It works.

Ever heard of the law of attraction?

Maybe it's the power of god, or the power of the universe, who knows.

Whatever it is, you can harness it

    Maybe you think I'm crazy

Just try it. Try to believe in yourself. Really do it.

  19. Omar just do a shootaround at the YMCA and you will get better we share the same problem dont get the ball even when im open, and you try to make them feel stupid by making shots but you cant.

But you will be surprised how much shooting around helps you, also try to get someone to help you with your form alot of the times its the way people shoot that affects their shot.

I practiced all summer and i have gotten alot better ima shut these people up this year.

  20. Dont worry bout it. Everything comes with patience. Micheal Jordan wasnt always great. Im not sure if he still does but i know he used to have the record for the most missed shots in a NBA season. And now hes a legend. might be a big step between u and him. but be patient thing will get better if u keep trying.

  21. Ok dude. I went through the same exact thing you're going through right now for the past 2 years. I'd practice on my own, get down on myself, not believe in myself, questioned myself, doubted myself. I'd think all the time "Why can't I do this...God I suck I can't do this...There's a million other people who are better...Why am I going through this...This is dumb...I'm just getting worse by practicing?" Truth is, everyone struggles to gain success. Success ISN'T GRADUAL. Remember that... IF I was to draw a graph of success, it'd be a roller coaster. I've learned you don't just keep getting better and better. Some days you're going to hit everything and the next day you're probably not going to do as well. But that's what makes you better. You just have to get through it...Believe that you're practicing the right stuff and even though there will be A LOT of bad days, believe me I've been through them all. YOU have to think about how good YOU are.

Here's what you have to do. Make a plan of what you're going to go outside and practice everyday. Do things in sets of 10 and write every shot down. Work on your ball handling and set goals for certain drills.

Ok this is very important. I want you to write down 10 good things you do, everyday when you play...

I don't care if you have to write "My shoes matched my shorts". Get those 10 things.

Great players shoot 1 for 10 and remember that one shot. They forgot about every shot they miss and you have to do that too. You have to think the next one is always going in.

  22. Whoa, just chillax! It's ok. I know that's frustrating. Just practice. If you really love basketball, then just keep practicing. It will be hard but you can do it. There are a few people in the world who are just naturally really good at something like basketball. There are a lot of people who need to practice to be good. You are one of the many people who needs to practice. There is nothing wrong with that. Get together with friends and practice so that you won't feel so bad if you mess up. Just have a good time. Try to enjoy it. After all, that's the entire point.

  23. Don't worry, I had the same problem. I cryed b/c I sucked at tennis, now...I am a lot better! I kept trying and trying, worked. I practiced everyday, and now I can't believe it's me! I believed, I worked and my family supported me. I feel great, now. I used to think that God made me a horrible player, and now I am #1 in my tennis camp. I was thinking of quiting, but something inside told me to keep trying and trying, it paid off.

If u practice, and believe in urself, u will get results. U think Kobe was good at the beginning? NO! He worked hard, just like u should do. U will improve, I guarantee u. Just believe in urself, and work hard.

  24. hey, not everyone is born with an ability, some people are horrible, but they practice and practice until they are better than those who are born with good basketball skills. I myself could not even dribble the ball but after a few months i was pretty good.

You're not getting anywhere crying, Practice, Practice, and Practice some more!

  25. Don't cry man, it won't help you get anywhere. You gotta be confident, first you have to go shoot around a lot to get that confidence, and don't think about anything else, don't think like how you're thinking now. I find that going to the university gym or anywhere with good players will teach you fast and develop you fast. Not everyone is talented, and some nba players they haven't played basketball all their lives, just look at Amare Stoudemire of the phoenix suns and Francisco Elson of the San Antonio Spurs(not sure if he's still there). Amare Stoudemire didn't start playing ball until high school and he got drafted out of high school, and Francisco Elson didn't play until grade 12. See how far they've come? if they can do it, so can you. THE MAIN THING IS ATTITUDE, YOU GOTTA HAVE GOOD ATTITUDE AND CONFIDENCE. Another thing I usually do in a game is that, if I can't make 2 or 3 shots, then I'll keep passing until I get a good look. Practice to get confidence. Also in order to have good shooting form, you can use any shooting form but I usually shoot from my forehead, but you gotta have good balance too, from your legs, your legs have to be shoulderlength apart and also feel comfortable shooting it, it's hard but it'll get easier once you keep shooting. Now stop crying and go shoot!

  26. Maybe you should try bowling or something.

  27. okay T.O.

  28. You just have to practice and practice. There is no way you can become a better basketball player just over night without practice. Learn the concept of shooting the ball and how to hold it so that you will shoot more swiftly.

Now go wipe off your tears, grab a ball, and go out there and shoot some hoops.
