Wow wont install?!?!? 10 points to the first person to help me install it!?

I have world of warcraft installed on my brothers computer and the guest computer and i usually install it on mine also (just redid my computer cus' it had a virus) so i had to reinstall it. it took like 6 hours but it got done, then when i go to play it, it pops up with this :

WoW

ERROR #121 (0x85100079) Version Mismatch

Progran: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe

and also a crash report thingy, how do i fix this? i dont want to reinstall it again after trying to install it all friken day!

p.s. could norton anti virus be blocking it? i turned norton off, and thought i disabled the firewall

  1. did u crack the game file....u have to find a crack  file and paste it into the game folder in program files...


  2. Usually this error is the result of a System Restore, basically restoring old data back into the WoW files. This type of error may be fixed by running the repair tool that is inside the WoW folder, otherwise it will require a re-install. Another rare cause of this error is setting the WoW folder to be hidden rather than visible. If you have set the folder to be hidden then undo this setting.  

  3. Hey I had the same problem today and found a fix, got back to playing WoW without having to uninstall or anything.. go into your root wow folder (default c:/program files/world of warcraft) Open the Data forlder there should be a file in there called patch.mpq... rename the file ext to something bogus, i used patch.mpy, and run the blizz repair tool. It will say there is a critical error and you need to downgrade.. let the repair tool finish, download patches, open wow and the error should not come up anymore XD.
