Wozniacki; well eager for WTA Championship title
The current world number one Caroline Wozniacki will participate in the WTA (Women Tennis Association) tennis championship which is going to be held in Doha.
In the tournament, eight female tennis players will take part and the players are divided into two groups. Wozniacki is in the maroon group. The Maroon group comprises of tennis stars such as Elena Dementieva and Sam Stosur. The maroon group seems stronger
than the White group as it comprises of the current world number one and in form of tennis ace, Elena Dementieva.
The American tennis veterans Serena and Venus Williams are absent from the list of the players taking part in the tournament because of their injury issues.
It is to be noted that the twenty year old Dane Caroline Wozniacki is the youngest among all who are participating in the tournament. But Wozniacki is in excellent form and has won four tournaments out of five she has played.
On the other hand Vera Zvonareva is in outstanding playing form as well and the current season has been a very good season for her as she is in a very strong position to clutch the World number one title from Wozniacki by winning the Doha, WTA tournament.
The tournament is going to be a very important tournament for the Belgian veteran Kim Clijsters as well. Kim has been suffering from a foot injury and she has not played in any tennis tournament after the US Open Grand Slam, which was held in August in New
York. Her absence from the tennis court might create more problems for her as well.
Other than Clijsters, Elena Dementieva and Jelena Jankovic are also not in the best physical form. So according to the critics the Wozniacki and Zvonareva might create a big difference in the results as they are currently enjoying their best playing form,
without any fitness issues.
The Dane Wozniacki will start her campaign by playing against Francesca Schiavone. It is also to be noticed that it is important for Wozniacki to win at least two matches of her three group matches to maintain her world number one ranking.
After usurping the top rank of tennis from Serena Williams, Caroline Wozniacki has been working hard to keep her winning streak alive. But the upcoming tennis tournament is definitely not going to be an easy battle for the Danish star as she will be playing
against the world’s best tennis players.
In a very recent interview Wozniacki expressed her aims and ambitions pretty bluntly and told the media that she enters in a tennis event to win it and that is her focus for the next tournament as well. She added that she is pretty satisfied with her performance
and it is a very nice feeling to know that you are at the top. She said that being number one is an incredible feeling and she is just loving it.
Clijsters has recovered from her foot injury and seems very concerned about her fitness. When the twenty seven years old Belgian was asked about her current condition she told the media that the foot is taking a lot of time to recover as she had to take
the stitches out before the cut was closed. The Grand Slam winner added that she will be perfect very soon.
On the other hand the Serbian tennis ace Jelena Jankovic is also not feeling a hundred percent fit as she has been facing injury issues and serious illness. When she was asked about the matter the twenty five year old and current world number eight said
that she is not perfectly fit and her playing form is not good as well. She added that injuries had created a lot of problems for her and the tournament is going to be a very tough challenge.
