Question:

Wrapping a large sized wedding gift??

I have bought a toaster oven as a wedding gift for my friend's son. But how should I wrap it? The box is quite big, and I don't have wrapping paper that will cover the entire box. What other alternatives should I use? Other ideas?

  1. They make Bags.

Like gift bags for large gifts.

    My bed came in one.

I'm not sure where to get them but i would say you can get them from places like craft stores and such.

But they come in plain colors and holiday/event stuff.

  2. wrap it in a black and white newspaper and just tie a cute colored bow on it.  (Red or Lime Green, somthing fun)

  3. Buy a tablecloth that could be used on other occasions, it's a great way to wrap larger kitchen items, and serves other purposes!

  4. But an inexpensive tablecloth and wrap it in that.

Or just buy more wrapping paper and piece it together.

  5. Good lord, go buy a $5 roll of wrapping paper.

If you have to wrap one half of the box at a time because it is so big, use a large ribbon to cover the seam and put a big bow on top.

  6. There are a few things you can do. Look for oversized wrapping paper. Wrap it with several pieces, harder to make it look nice but it would be covered. Buy a big plain box from the post office and then decorate it with stickers and anything else you want to use. I like the sheet idea too, even if they didn't register. Just get a neutral color (cream/beige) because everyone could use a spare set of sheets even if they aren't the prettiest. I think newspaper woul look a bit tacky, and you could just as easily use solid colored wrapping paper in several pieces.

  7. If you are willing to spend a little more, maybe you can see if he has a set of sheets on his registry and buy them and wrap the present and the rest of the sheets in it.
