Question

My boyfriend wanted to know if anyone knows why CM PUNK is called CM PUNK. Does the CM stand for anything?- if so what for? And whats the PUNK thing about- is he a fan of punk music/ style?

Oh and what does the tattoo on his stomache say?

Apparently CM stands for "Cookie Master" The name his mother called him when he was younger.

Yes he does like Punk music

CM in CM Punk stands for Cookie Master(not Cookie Monster). His mom use to call him Cookie Master when he was small because he use love eating cookies. I think the Punk part is because of his style.

On his stomache it says Straightedge.

He has many tattoo's, the one on his stomach says "Straight Edge", which means he doesn't do drugs and he doesn't drink any alcohol. He is just real in and outside the ring. He has "DRUG" on the knuckles of his right hand and "FREE" on the knuckles of his left hand. It was a tag team he use to had in the backyard wrestling days but Punk says it doesn't mean anything now

Originally the CM represented the phrase "Chick Magnet", the name of the tag team he was in as a backyard wrestler. Although Punk has stated CM now has no real meaning, he has taken to making up meanings when asked that fit the initials, going so far as to make up long stories to explain the origins that do not match the actual origin story at all he has stated CM stands for "Cookie Monster","Crooked Moonsault", "Chuck Mosley", "Charles Montgomery" and "Charles Manson" among others.
