Wrestling is scripted right? If so why do so many people watch it?

I've always wondered that as I see this stuff alot and just wonder why so many watch. Why do people watch wrestling?

for the same reason people watch sitcoms, movies, tv dramas, and pretty much anything on tv besides sports or the news. The only difference between wrestling and a soap opera is that wrestlers do show tremendous athletic ability. I'll admit that most of the punches are pulled, and many of the slams and such don't hurt nearly as much as they look like, but when that guy jumps off the top rope does a flip and lands on his opponent, that was real....the guy really did that jump and flip. When a guy picks another guy up over the his head and drops him, that is real. Its just a form of entertainment, which I have reffered to for years as a soap opera for men.

Ok Well I'll Give You a real answer :P

Guys watch wrestling because they enjoy violence, they dont even care if its fake.. But i think UFC is so popular because its violent and real.. I find real olympic style wrestling more entertaining because its violent.. yet strategic..

It's the same reason people watch soap operas. There is decent plot line, some really hot guys and girls, and you get to boo the bad guy.

Plus, even though it is scripted, you gotta give the wrestlers credit. Getting hit actually hurts and falling through a table can be really dangerous. The fact that these people perform and survive is amazing.

why do people watch any tv show. wwe is entertainment. but unlike other tv shows it's very unique and theres many storylines to follow and unique stunts to keep you watching every week

People watch it for the same reason you watch movies and tv shows.

Hello...almost all things that you see on tv are scripted.

Also wrestling is really entertaining. And not like those other shows that the channels just keep on giving again and again and again. Each and every week you can watch a fresh new episode of RAW,SmackDown,ECW, or TNA or any other wrestling shows that are on tv.

Because its entertaining and doesnt have re-runs. Most of the stuff you see on TV is scripted. We know its scripted and we dont care.

I mean, seriously, 90% of the stuff you see on TV is scripted and fake. And people still watch c**p like Laguna Beach. People watch Movies and Programmes which are scripted and people dont complain about them. So why pick on Wrestling?
