Question:

Wrist Fracture & Exercising?

Hi everyone

I broke my wrist 7 months ago, and ended up with a metal plate & screws being put in my arm. It seems to have healed except for a scar. Could anyone tell me if I can do weigh bearing exercises like press ups, etc., or should my wrist have some kind of support? Also, would it need to be protected if I went swimming?

Thanks

  1. Your surgeon is the only one who should truely answer this for you.  Yet, in all likelihood, if your injury was 7 months ago, the support would be for comfort only as you need it. No need to protect it in the water as long as your incision is healed.

  2. swimming, i think your ok, now lifting, if you think about it, you could still hurt it again, i would be very careful, maybe wear a brace or something! i broke my wrist, about 5 years ago, and sometimes just to pick a paper up hurts! just be careful, cause you dont want to hurt it again!
