I am a competitive tennis player (top 10 in Texas) and I have been out for 6 months with a wrist injury. I have done absolutely nothing tennis wise and have rested for the entire time. I have been through primary care, Orthopedic, unsuccessul round of PT, cast via Ortho, and currently am 5 visits into second round of PT, although I am looking for a wrist specialist. It is not responding the way it should, and we need another opinion. Does anyone know a hand/wrist specialist in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area?? Thanks!!

  1. I don’t know the specifics of your injury and the following is not to be to be construed as medical advice.

However if I had a wrist injury such as pain, inflammation, swelling or minor tears of the tissues of the wrist (e.g., ligaments, muscles, nerves, etc.), I would try the following in combination for at least one month. If relief and healing start occuring within a month, I would continue using it until the injury has fully healed, I am able to play tennis 100% for a few weeks or months, and there is no recurrence of the injury.

    1. Apply Celadrin cream by lightly rubbing the cream over the affected area at least 3 to 5 times each day until relief occurs (then reduce to 2 times a day) to directly reduce inflammation and pain. If nothing else, I would try out this cream.

    2. Apply medical magnet therapy by strapping a special magnet over the injured wrist (but keeping the magnet at least one foot away from my computer, credit cards, electronic devices, etc.). I would use it at least while sleeping and watching TV.

    3. Take Dr. Whitaker’s Joint Essentials supplement (capsules) to rebuild cartilage and tissue. (An alternative to Joint Essentials is a collagen supplement to help rebuild injured ligaments, etc.)

    4. Take Dr. Whitaker’s Joint & Muscle Comfort Plus supplement (capsules) to alleviate aches and pains and support a normal inflammatory response.

    What is Celadrin

I would buy a good brand of Celadrin cream, such as:

Medical magnet therapy: I would ask them which product(s) is best for my injury and how to use it. Probably a 4" x 6" x 1/2" OR 4" x 6 x 1" comfort covered ceramic magnet with a star-type wrap strap would do the trick. The Wrist Wrap is also a possibility.

  2. wow. hm..i don't really know any hand/wrist specialists in texas but i have sympathy for what you're going through. what kind of wrist injury do you have exactly? because it seems to me that if you have been through PT, been put in a cast and been to an orthopedic doctor that they're missing something. i suggest getting an MRI if you haven't already to check out what's going on inside your wrist. also, if the MRI finds that it is tendinitis or tendinosis then you might want to consider getting a cortisone injection. trust me, they're not exactly fun but they do help. also, with the MRI the doctor can see if you've torn anything and with that the most likely course of action would be surgery. i'm not sure what else there is to do about wrist injuries than rest, PT, cortisone injections or surgery. it all depends on what is wrong with your wrist. anyways good luck and i hope this helped!
