  1. NaCl(aq) + AgNO3(aq) ------> NaNO3(aq) + AgCl(s)

    AgCl is the white precipitate

  2. Rose is correct.

    A general equation for the formation of Silver Chloride is:

    Ag+(aq)  + Cl-(aq)  >>>>> AgCl(s)

  3. Both the above are correct, however, sailor astra is the one that has given you the NET equation.

    The Net Ionic Equation is the equation for a reaction which lists only those species participating in the reaction.

    If you write the total ionic equation of  Rose's molecular example above

    Na+ (aq) + Cl-(aq) + Ag+(aq) + (NO3)-(aq) ------> Na+(aq) + (NO3)-(aq) + AgCl(s)

    You will notice that Na+ and (NO3)- remain unchanged on both sides. They do not participate in the reaction and so you can cancle them out to give the net ionic equation.
