  1. Y-intercept form means the equation should look like y=mx+b.  This equation is almost there already.

    Just divide each term by -6 to get the equation into slope-intercept form

    y= (-3/6)x+(-16/-6)

    y=(-1/2)x+8/3

  2. Slope-intercept form looks like this:

       y = mx + b

    That means you need to work with your equation until you have a single "y" at the beginning.

    Your equation looks like this:

    -6y = 3x - 16

    It's all in the right order, but not quite finished.  Since it starts out with a -6 in front of the "y" (multiplying), you should first divide each term by -6 to "undo" it.  This will give you:

    y = (-1/2)x + 8/3

    Now your equation fits the pattern for "slope-intercept form".  Your slope is -1/2 and your y-intercept is -16.
