CaCO3: Ksp = [CO2]

KClO3: Ksp = [O2]^3

Ksp is the decomposition of the compound.

That proves CaCO3 -> CaO + CO2; KClO3 -> KCl + O2

  1. Are you sure you have your definitions right? Ksp stands for solubility product, nothing to do with decomposition. For example, Ksp for calcium fluoride is [Ca2+][F-]^2 (why did I square the fluoride?).
