= ( y2-y1 ) / ( x2-x1)

= ( 4 - 2 ) / ( 3 - 1 )

= 2 / 2

= 1

to find eqn of line, use formula

y - y1 = m ( x - x1 ), where m is gradient of line

y - 2 = 1 ( x - 1 )

y - 2 = x - 1

y = x + 1

eqn of line, y = x + 1
