    1) wrote

    Yesterday, I wrote a letter.

    2) written -> used either with the auxiliary "to be " or "to have"

    e.g.

    I have written a note to my boss.

    This note was written by me = I wrote this note.

    3) You can also say  "I did write a note! "when you want to emphasize the fact.
