3^2a^4b-7 / a^5 b^-4 c^2 d^-5 help pls

  1. Rules of exponents:

    x^(-a) = 1/x^a

    (x^a)/(x^b) = x^(a - b)

    So:

    3^2 = 9.  I don't know if you needed to do that, but it looks cleaner.

    (a^4)/(a^5) = a^(-1) = 1/a  (basically, you have four a's up top and five on the bottom.  Four cancel, leaving you one on the bottom.)

    b^(-7)/b^(-4) = b^(-7 - (-4)) = b^(-3) = 1/b^3

    c^2 already has a positive exponent, so leave it alone

    d^(-5) on the bottom becomes d^5 on the top.

    So, [9d^5]/[a b^3 c^5]
