Writing Question?

I am writing a story but got stuck when I had to create a scene were two characters had to meet. But I had some problems because:

1) Both characters are extremely quiet and are nice but don't want to talk or become close to anyone.

2) They would have to be seen together in a public place and to someone watching them look like they are enjoying each others company.

3) both teenagers opposite gender

See my problem. It is hard to create a scene where to people are forced to be together and still look like they are happy.

Any answers are appreciated!!!!!!

-Thanks

  1. Just use an everyday situation, think about the ways you've met people before, whether it be bumping into them accidentally (literally) and helping to pick up dropped stuff, waiting for a late train/flight/bus, or even experiences which seem traumatic at the time and show different sides to people such as being stuck in a broken elevator, a mild road accident on public transport. People may be talking about it in a friendly manner after, sharing their thoughts about the event which has just passed.

Hope this helped, lol :) Good luck with your story

  2. give them a serendipitous event.. where everything 'just happens', in which they are not able to ignore...

    everone has a commonality..

  3. They are two students and their teacher places them in a group to work on some project together.  It could be a psychology class and the teacher wants them to ask each other random questions, but the real point of the exercise is to view how people interact when they initally meet.
