Writing a Song...?

Question

I really love singing and dancing. I really love music but I really want to write my own songs but I don't really know how. Can someone tell me some tips or where should I start for making a song?

well i have never like preformed songs i have written  but i enjoy writing songs basiclly choose something that is on your mind and you would like to sing about then start with a main line that could potentially incorperate the title of the song and then write the chorus and go from there hope i helped good luck

well, i am a drummer, and i have been drumming for 7 years so idk if this has to do with this much. but i am a very dedicated musician and i love to write music for my drumline to play. what i do, is find an inspiration first. something that will drive the entire theme of the song. it can be anything at all. i recently wrote a song called "shindig" because every year, me and my friends have a get together at the end of school, and i had sooo much fun. so i wrote the song and it had tons of energy and is very powerful. so id say, find an inspiration, think of eadjectives to describe your topic, write lyrics to bring out the feel of the adjectives, and the music should be clear after that. because while you are writing the song, an idea of how you want the music to sound will form in your mind. so all you have to do is put it on a piano or w/e instrument you want to use. hope this helps!
