Writing a ballad?

i really want to write a ballad so that i can sing it but i do not know how to. I want the ballad to be about love or relationships. I need help in writing it. Can you guys help me and give me advice. Thanks =)

Why not start with a situation you remember about either love or a relationship that you felt very strongly about. Start writing down words of how you felt - crushed, blinded by love, broken etc. When you write from the heart or from remembering a real incident it is much more passionate and believable. Take your time and give it a few weeks. When you have exhausted your list, start to sort some of the words into a main verse that can be repeated throughout the ballad.
