The amount was $165.80. And on the part where you write it out I put one sixty five instead of one hundred sixty five. Was that ok or did I mess up?

  1. You messed up. You were supposed to write one hundred sixty five and then .80/1.00------------------

Maybe your bank or the other bank wont notice it and it'll go through fine, if not, you may have to issue another one.

  2. You should have written "one hundred sixty-five and 80/100"...keep in mind a check miswritten can be easily changed to read as a different amount...and then you'd REALLY have some problems...ALWAYS be careful when writing a paper check...if you are unsure of the proper way, ask someone at the bank to guide you...

  3. You can probably get away with that.. thats why they have 2 places for the amount.. but make sure next time you put one hundred sixty five.. or whatever the amount might be

  4. messed up

  5. Should be:

    One hundred sixty-five and 80/100.

  6. Don't worry.  You should have added the work 'hundred', but since you put in the 80/100 the check will clear as 165.80

  7. The bank will read this check as $1.65 they do no look at the part where you write a number in the little box they only look at the part where the number is actually written out.  So I believe you messed up.
