Hello,

I really need help in writing and balancing:

Que. Write a balanced equation for the photosynthesis reaction in which gaseous carbon dioxide and liquid water react in the presence of chlorophyll to produce aqueous glucose (C6H12O6) and oxygen gas.

A big thankyou!!!

  1. 6H2O + 6CO2 ----------> C6H12O6+ 6O2

  2. 6CO2 + 6H2O + sunlight ---> C6H12O6+6O2.. it is correct, but a bit simplified..

    in words it would be: carbondioxide and water plus sunlight, gives carbohydrate and oxygen :)

  3. A commonly used slightly simplified equation for photosynthesis is:

        6 CO2(g) + 12 H2O(l) + photons → C6H12O6(aq) + 6 O2(g) + 6 H2O(l)

        carbon dioxide + water + light energy → glucose + oxygen + water

    The equation is often presented in introductory chemistry texts in an even more simplified form as:[2]

        6 CO2(g) + 6 H2O(l) + photons → C6H12O6(aq) + 6 O2(g)
