Writing for magazines and books??

ive always been very creative with my writing skills and have always enjoyed writing stories and articles but have never taken it any farther. i need some extra cash and would love to find a way to use my writing skills to make a little cash on the side. the thing is i see many job vacancies for freelance writiers but these are for articles about computer programming which which i know nothing about. im more interested in the 'top ten bags' kind of article (hehehe) and sort stories for magazines. how do i get intot his sort of thing when my carrer has taken such a different direction i have no experience. is there a site or magazine where you can submit your articles about fashion and makeup and boys and things like that and they decide. please advise :)

Try this, write some articles about those things that you are interested in and submit them to newspapers or magazines with a covering letter stating that you wish them to be published.

Address your letter to the editor / fashion editor, and mark 'personal' or 'confidential'.
