Writing on guitars??

hey im getting a stratocaster electric guitar soon and i want to ahve some funky white writing on it, but it looks like the guitar has a plasticy sorta surface on it that you cant write on because it wont stay on, does anyone know what kinda pen i can use???

You can write on it with normal permanent marker then have it treated. My friend had his Zakk Wylde Epiphone Les Paul signed by Zakk Wylde himself... he needs it treated in order for it to stay on when playing. In the meantime he isn't playing it!

Any permanent marker , a sharpie might work , or a cd writing pen ...
