Alright, I know how to write a check but recently bought a house and am a little unsure of how to write a check for such a large amount.

For ex. If my bill is $1452.00 a month I've been writing One thousand four hundred fifty two etc.

Is it acceptable to write Fourteen hundred and fifty two

  1. Yes/No.  You could write it that way but you run the risk of the bank or company s******g up the amount and the check being held or rejected.  The correct way  would be to write:

One thousand four hundred fifty-two dollars and 00/100.

Good question and you are smart to ask.

  2. Fourteen hundred fifty two and no/100 would be correct.

  3. YEP

  4. Yes, I have written it that way but be sure to add "00/100" or "and zero cents" at the end so that  there is no mistaking the full amount.

  5. No, because the "And" implies the cents.

One thousand four hundred fifty two and 00/100 = $1452.00

One thousand four hundred and fifty two = $1400.52
