  1. So- in an emergency, how would you get as much of your troop together as possible?

    The answer in most cases is a calling tree- the one notified of the emergency called the SPL or other junior leaders, who quickly call people they are assigned to- usually the Patrol Leaders and other senior and adult staff as needed.

    The Patrol Leader calls his APL, and the two of them call the rest of the patrol.

    At this point, everyone should have been called and the troop should be gathering at the designated spot.

    If you want to take this to the next level, contact your local Red Cross, Salvation Army, or other disaster response team and see if and how your mobilized troop can help. Most of a troop's help will be as manpower for a clean-up effort, etc. after an event.
