I have Cox Communications. They recently reset all my services (phone, cable and internet). When my services came back up, my PC would not connect to the internet. My network is working fine and I can get online with my PS3, PSP and laptop. I tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew and this timed out saying cannot contact the DHCP server. The IP address my PC is getting is 169.254.60.100. It should be 192.168.1 something. I tried to repair the LAN connection and Windows times out saying cannot repair. The Cox technician came out and said it has to be my PC with the problem. I have unpluggged and reconnect all hardware (Linksys wrt54gs router, Arris tm502g modem, and Hp pavilion a324x PC). I have set and reset all my DHCP settings and LAN settings. Please advise me on what else I can try short of spending a lot of money out my pocket.
