Question:

Wrong home page on Internet Explorer?

Please, only qualified respondents. I have Yahoo.com set as my home page, but whenever I fire up my browser, it goes to the Australian version of Yahoo. I have checked numerous times and my home page is still set to the American version, but it always takes me to Australia. Even if I go to my favorites list and select the American version to open in a new tab, it goes to the Australian version. I am using IE7 as my browser and I even reloaded it, but the problem persists. How can I fix this?

  1. Go to [Tools] then [Internet Options] and double check you have the right version of Yahoo for your homepage. If this doesn't work, try random homepage and then return back to the American version of yahoo. Also check your yahoo settings.

  2. You might also try running spyware software. I've had similar problems with my browser and running Spybot usually fixes it.

  3. If u have it as www.yahoo.com  .. it will go to the austrailan yahoo...

even if u type it in the address box it will go to austrailan....

If u want to go to the amercain 1 u have to put the slash at the end of .com

    eg.. http://www.yahoo.com/

  4. Try: - Click on your "My Account" link (by your "Sign Out" link at the top) of the window - After signing in, click the "Edit" link on the Membership Information line (toward the right). - Scroll down to "General Preferences," then click on the preferred content link to choose Yahoo! . - Adjust your time zone and then click the "Finished" button at the bottom.

NOTE: If you created your Yahoo account via the . site, there's no way to change the default country pages without creating a new account through the . site.
