Wrong model

Question

hay i bought vaio pcg7v2l model but when i trying to register to sony customer service in usa or europe thay saying wrong model number, i bought i from my friend, he bought from somebody else so its hard to track this. i cant download any software or nothing because of this, somebody told me there is another number of this like VGN-FE890 is this true?
